these works are all about perception and how photography can give the power to create entire worlds if the photographer so choose, but it is about time, it's a about a lie and a landscape

Im interested in taking multiple photographs and then superimposing them to show how similar the positions are (how they match up in many areas but then to also bring attention to the spots where the position has changed.) This may also suggest movement. (for example, the movement of my hand)
since we are addressing topics of reality, truth, maybe even 'eXposing' certain truths... i wanted to capture something that is true, something that is very real about myself. i am not here to be controversial or pornographic. i am here to share something intimate with the viewer. i want to convey a truth, the truth that my own sexual satisfaction can only be acheived by myself when i am alone.

so here i am. by myself.

If i had not photographed myself during the act, i would not have a visual record, i would not be able to convey my secret in this candid display. That is what is so interesting... photography has the ability to reveal my truths to others that may not otherwize be realized.

Welcome to Miami. Palm trees! The beach! A Pollo Tropical Chicken on the Grill on every block and -- a mess of Exiles?
As a side project to my black and white stuff, I went on the K bus armed with a disposable camera and tried to photograph Miami as others see it, through the grungy bus windows. After every shot of the putside I took a shot of who was in the bus - a rainbow of people; the elderly, the lower and working class, the homeless, the disabled, the students and the tourists. This peice will be displayed with a map of the route that the K takes - though some of the ritzest parts of miami beach - with the series of photos in 2's going up/down the wall. Here's 3 peices from it.

There have been some weird comment spam vaguely telling us how great of a site this and linking to a weird page about poker or something. I've went back and removed such comments and have placed a barrier where you need to write in what's in the pic. Not too shabby.

At the scale these are printed - 6' wide - they are even more illusive. The titles are important in helping the viewer imagine the illusion of seeing a landscape rather than, or in addition to, a... "face-scape."

I've tried hard to figure out exactly what I can do for this project. I was thinking of the dissolving of memory, the dissolving of the medium that captures and contains moments. I've been told that t-bone steak dissolves when submerged in coca cola within 2 days; a metal nail within 4 days. What if I were to have containers of various materials and photographs submerged in lit glass containers of a cola of some sort. I would try these experiments in sprite or something brighter than regular cola. This idea is kind of taken from my candle piece in which the artwork will change over time. I'm still having issues as to how I would set this up, finding containers, experimenting and the sort. I got this idea last night so tell me what you think.

{EDIT} I've talked with a few people who also suggested diluting the cola to slow the process as well as mixing various dyes to change the color of the water and position the lighting carefully. I was also thinking of adding other trinkets besides photography to apply some work that wouldn't disintigrate as well.

After trying to find something that I thought really delt with realities I stumbled upon the amazing james jean (google 'em) I was completely moved and I am starting to produce work that I hope leaves our reality and starts in another one all together... but photography takes from this world so this is quite a challenge these are the first pieces from these thoughts

Alright, so some of my work. These are just things I've done this school year that I think could be better. About my work: I mainly do self portraits, and I work with Trix400 kodak film, printed on fiber paper... I don't think enough about lighting when I work, thus problems like what I'm showing here. All the shots where were taken when I was on vacation in Boston over the summer, and are shown at around their actual size.

How can one person shoot photographs of religious context with being blatantly obvious about it? Using a cross, or the star of david is just too tacky.

Another idea: Shooting a rayogram through a Talit for religious textures.
